Why did you decide to become a recruiter?  I had worked in the medical field in credentialing and then for about a year and a half in scheduling in constant contact with physicians.  I thought it would be interesting to identify and recruit physicians and my background conveniently helped.

How does your experience enable you to connect candidates with the right positions?  Throughout the years I have developed great relationships with my providers and have also changed many provider’s lives just by listening and working through their situations, needs and wants.  My experience has brought me to where I am today with a substantial pipeline of folks that I can network with.  The physicians/MLPs rely on the recruiters to find the best fit for them.

Describe one of your greatest professional accomplishments.  Fully recruiting a startup with 2 week period.

What makes EmCare different from other EM groups/What makes it attractive to candidates?  EmCare is the Leader in Practice Management (need I say more – LOL!).  We provide transparency where other groups may not.  Our Practices are successful because we offer the best of EmCare to our Patients and Providers.  Our patients are our priority and it shows through the quality of care provided by our physicians and MLPs.  Thousands of patients make their way successfully through our E.D.s annually because of our great care.

How important is the “relationship” between recruiter and candidate?  Extremely important.  Their lives are in your hands and they look to us for direction and understanding.  We (recruiters) are the biggest advocates for the candidates and that is something we take very seriously

What do you like most about working at EmCare?  Relationships and experiences.  I also enjoy working in an environment where Teamwork is the core of getting the job done and being successful.

What do you enjoy outside of work?  Family, friends, pets (cats and dogs), surrounding myself with great people and doing fun things, reading

What’s your favorite inspirational quote?  I have a few.  “There is no “I”in Team”.  “Success is not without failure”

What qualities make a successful recruiter?  Ability to listen, good people skills, motivation, creativity, never take “no” for an answer, always push the envelope, and trust

Why should physicians and advanced practice providers join EmCare?  Our track record speaks for itself

What should residents do now to prepare themselves for future hiring opportunities?  I always tell residents to absorb as much information as possible (like a sponge) and try not to leave any stone unturned.  The decision they make about their position is “huge” and they need to make sure they have all of the information, resources and tools to make the best choice possible.

What “insider tips” do you have for anyone applying to EmCare?  You are in good hands

How should a candidate follow up after an interview with you?  The sooner the better

Where do you look for candidates, both in-person and online? Do you use social media – LinkedIn, Twitter, Doximity, etc., to connect with candidates?  Referrals, Resident functions, Internet, Emails, Phone calls
