Robert R. Page III, MD, MBA

Dr. Robert Page joined EmCare in 2011 as a staff physician.  He became an associate medical director in January 2012 and was promoted to medical director in June 2012.  His extensive experience includes supervision and support for hospital quality and efficiency programs including Core Measures and PQRI as well as providing leadership for emergency department physicians and advanced practice providers. He has served as the physician director for a Chest Pain Center and a Stroke Center, both certified by the Joint Commission, and has been a member of numerous committees including medical advisory, neurosciences, physician/nurse governance, utilization review, sepsis, critical care and disaster management. Page has worked with departments with large trauma and pediatric volumes to improve efficiency and metrics. He also supervised a major expansion and remodel of an emergency department.  
 
Page brings a strong spirit of collaboration and partnership as he serves as a liaison between hospital administration, emergency department site medical directors, hospital medicine medical directors, nursing leaders, ancillary services and other hospital department.  The relationships he builds help increase efficiency and patient flow, improving quality, value and service in patient care.  Specific initiatives include decreasing LWOTs from 10 percent to less than 1 percent, cutting arrival to provider times in half, driving patient satisfaction scores for physicians to the 90th percentile or greater and achieving 100 percent core measures goals. 
 
Page received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham where he received the Mutual Assurance Award for Outstanding Patient Communication Skills.  He completed his residency in internal medicine at Carraway Methodist Medical Center.  His baseball caps have to have a different mascot on each side as he is currently enrolled in the Physicians Executive MBA Program at Auburn University, Raymond J. Harbert College of Business.  He was honored as the Medical Director of the Year by his employer in 2010 and received another award for the best physician/nurse team in 2011. He is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the Society of Chest Pain Centers.
 
Page is married with two young children, a son and a daughter.  His hobbies include golf, tennis, fly fishing, snowboarding, and chasing kids.
